CamGirls is an examination into the phenomenon of Web Cams (a digital camera connected to a computer capable of transmitting images across the Internet) and the young women (primarily between the ages of 18-24) who dedicate websites to their daily journals and Web Cam images.
These sites can receive as much as 20,000 unique visitors a day.
Most of these women are not charging for access to their Web Cam images and daily online journals (called "blogs" or Web-Log), but some do offer premium images or additional material for the paying customer.
From acclaimed short-filmmaker Jay Holben (Descent, The Night Before, Paranoid), CamGirls will examine the motivations behind why these girls broadcast their images across the Internet. It will take a look at each girl's 'real' life.
CamGirls is co-produced by Your Half Pictures and Adakin Productions.
CamGirls is slated for a late 2006 release.
